Good app but...

... needs the support of the .cbr files and an easiest way to transfer file (maybe over WIFI like "Files lite" appli). Guy, if you can do that, your appll definitively become a must have !! :D Thanks a lot for your job !

Please change this upload system

Ideas of new features that appear useful for me i hope some of them will inspired you : -display page number like "currentpage/totalpages" in transparency for 2 seconds in a corner or else... -permute view in horizontal position for a larger and comfortable reading -ftp support -a double touch zoom more smooth and quick as possible -turn pages by friction more reactive with the grab system like the main screen on iphone for chose applications, with differents animations type like cube , simple slide, mosaic -turn pages by shaking could be funny -the possibility of creating folders and moving files in it or out -UPNP support for users with a nas server , re crazy ok thats a lot but i think the more urgent is a different way to upload the files so good luck we are waiting impatiently next update great job!!

Bof bof

Je lui préfère comic zeal.

Fills a few painful gaps

This program does fill a few gaps when it comes to displaying images on the iPhone. Using the built-in solution, images are scaled down and - upon zooming in - greatly lose in quality. iComic is a nice remedy. There are still a few points that might be improved, however, such as additional organizing and renaming of the file list as well as other optional ways of uploading comics. A piece of advice though: instead of downloading comics or mangas from the internet, you should try to follow the short tutorial on the programmers site and set up an HFS to transfer files from your pc or mac to the iphone. It works surprisingly fast and reliably. icomicをありがとうございます。本当に便利です。

Nice

Nice app. But no widescreen function. Fix this please. Cheers.

Solid reader

Very convenient reader, definitely worth the money. But it lacks Retina support on iPad and SMB support!

Perfect

I have read about 5GB manga with this app. It works perfect in all situations. Buy it, you wont regret it.

Great start, please add features

Running 1.1 and its a very nice application. Viewing of zipped comic books with JPG or PNG files is great. Speed on larger JPGs is quite slow, but livable. Getting the comic files onto the device isnt very easy, as it requires you download them from a URL. Therefore you must add the books to a local webserver installed on your PC. Please add features such as rotation. Id like to see the comics on the side (wider) and scroll down, then having to scroll side to side. As well it would be nice to have a way to organize the books into folders. Otherwise a great app, keep up the good work!

Needs work

I bought this recently as there are only a couple of apps for the iPod/iPhone that let you read comics in CBR/CBZ format. I was excited to try this but was soon dissapointed. The app has a lot of potential but needs work. The worst thing is getting the comics on the application. You need to set up a web server to do this. I used Apache. You also need to type in each comic individually on the iPod to get it transfered. Some sort of click and drag import is really needed. Once a comic is loaded, the response time is slow zooming in and panning around the page. Its just sluggish. Hope to see an updated version soon. The one I bought was v1.1. Ill use ComicZeal for now.

Great app, but not for the casual user

This application is fantastic when it comes to viewing comics. Ive found it a pleasure to use. Where it falls down, though, is getting archives onto your iPod/iPhone. You need to host the application and specify the full server name, path, and filename of the comic you wish to download. You can simplify this process somewhat by following the authors instructions in creating and index text file. However I ended up writing a script to simplify the process of getting all my files into an index for downloading. If this doesnt put you off, buy this app. Its the best solution Ive found yet for not only comics but also converted PDFs.

Cant Add Any Content

The instructions are very flacky and dont match the directories on my iPhone 3GS. I know Im only out 99. But the app didnt work as advertised. Additionally sample files from the developers site disappeared when downloaded.

awesome app and not just for comics!

The only way to view comics on the ipod touch in my opinion. Also great for getting photos on the ipod without having them be resized by iTunes (I have some very nice larger photos that I want to take on the go with me and show people details)

Good app for only a dollar

Excellent! After a bit of confusion at the start I managed to transfer my comics and this app works damn well.

Awesome App for Comics

This is a really good app for reading comics on the iphone/itouch. To get the best out of this app - use ifunbox to transfer the comic files on and off your device. The only caveat is that the photo dimensions of the pages cant be too large or this app will skip over those.

The best image viewing app, now in HD!

Comic and manga readers rejoice, the premiere image viewing app: iComic is now iPad compatible! iComic allows users to view JPG, PNG and other image files in their original resolution - without any need to compromise image quality by converting image files to iPhone/iPad friendly formats. Although images can only be downloaded to the app via web interface, the app supports CBZ and ZIP archives which makes transferring groups of images much more easier. Where iComic shines though is in its supreme rendering speed - with the ability to cycle through even the largest of images at blazing fast speeds with ease. Multiple viewing and control options are also available such as locked zooming, and zoom preference to particular dimension (such as width or height) which makes this app ideal for viewing volumes of zipped comic book archives.

Simple to setup and a perfect solution to the image resolution problem.

Ignore the one star reviews here from people who cant get their files on the iPod. The application is brilliant. I had 300 chapters of One Piece on it in 10 minutes and I cant wait to dig into them during my morning commute. Simply put this app fixes one of the biggest problems with the iPod Touch. The photo optimization. For those who dont understand, iTunes by default shrinks down your images to the resolution of the screen. Great for viewing family pictures. Not so great for zooming in to read text or look at details since that detail is lost. This is especially bad with Manga and Comics as the text simply becomes unreadable. With this app the detail isnt lost. It does what it promises. The images look crisp and clear when resized. Its exactly what I needed. I had a slight bit of trouble getting it to download .zips via URL. I assume that was a network issue on my end though as I have two subnets and the router could have killed the incoming port request. The downloaded sample off the web worked just fine so I know the method works. It wasnt too much of an issue though. The beautiful thing about this app is that it also acts as a portable FTP (Only when you turn it on of course. Dont get paranoid :P). You can simply use FileZilla or another free FTP client to login and manually drag the files in. Painless and easy. Overall for 99 cents you cant go wrong. Even if you dont need it for comics or manga... Get it to store map files. This app is so much more than comics and manga for me, but its great for that too. I thought Id never get Manga viewable on my iPod Touch. For reference Im on an iPod Touch 3G v3.1.3

Cannot connect to its FTP

I am using windows 7, and I know how to turn this apps FTP on, but after I connected to its FTP site, I cannot upload any file to it due to some unknown permission error. I am unable to upload my comic files at all. Pretty disappointed.

Needs cbr

Love the app but needs to be able to read cbr files

Perfect app!!!

Absolutely I give 5 star!! But why it has a low valuation. I think someone doesnt know how to use it.
